I have been watching the film known as "The Breakfast Club" all week now, and i have been paying special attention to Jon Bender's character. In the movie, he plays a "criminal" who just doesn't seem to care about anyone's feelings and says what ever is on his mind, not caring if it is out of line. In other words, Jon Bender's character is an a** h***. I have been given the challenge of playing his character in a screen play for an English project. I've noticed that Jon Bender's attitude, tone, and diction is pretty much the exact opposite of mine. As an "actor in practice", I'm am trying my best to become this character and copy his exact characteristics. I've realized that this is as almost as difficult as learning a whole new way of speaking. You have to have a different thought process when you hear someone else talk, and go against your instincts. It is the illusion of a whole new language. In my case, I am the exact opposite of Jon Bender and it is quite hard to accept his character as my own.
"Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club"
